Where It All Began
Al Fares Family: A Deep-Rooted History and Vibrant Present Since 1880
The Al Fares family legacy began with the late Abdulmohsen Abdullah Al Fares, brother of the late Mohammed Abdullah Al Fares. At the time, the business focused on trading natural pearls, which were among the pillars of Kuwait’s economy. The late Abdulmohsen was highly skilled in sorting and appraising natural pearls a mastery he passed down to his son, Abdullah (Bu Hamad). Under his guidance, Abdullah became one of the most renowned and skilled merchants in the trade.
He then passed his expertise in pearl sorting to his son, Hamad Abdullah Alfares. With this invaluable knowledge, Hamad Abdullah Alfares quickly mastered the precise art of grading stones and diamonds. In the 1950s, Hamad Abdullah Al Fares officially established his own company under the name “Al Fares Jewellery” marking the first step toward professional jewellery design and craftsmanship.
Today, Al Fares Jewellery continues this rich tradition, blending heritage with innovation to create timeless pieces of elegance.
